The Parks and Facilities Department is pleased to announce that beginning this fall, organic fertilizer will be used on all Town playing fields.  This includes school and park fields.  Application will take place in late September and again in November.  Questions may be directed to the Parks and Facilities Department at 871-3693 or via e-mail to webadmin@tolland.org.  

The Tolland Town Council seeks applications from interested and qualified candidates to fulfill one alternate member vacancy on Tolland’s Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA).  One of the following three areas of knowledge is desired, but not required: civil and/or mechanical engineering; planning, design and construction of engineering projects; and/or business operations and management. We are now several weeks into our our new service contract with Willimantic Waste Paper and our residents seem to be pleased with the new provider and are getting comfortable with the revised bulky waste program and automated trash pick-up.  Nearly 5,200 wheeled carts were delivered by Willimantic Waste Paper during June for the start of this new service in July.  The first few weeks had only a small number of missed stops and transition problems and we expect that this will only improve as the contractor’s team gets more familiar with our neighborhoods and program requirements.
