Tolland Named 27th Best Small Town To Live In America
July 14, 2009Money Magazine has announced that they have ranked Tolland as the 27th best small Town to live in America. This ranking, which improves upon the 29th place ranking in 2005, is based on a strong local economy, great schools, affordable homes, low crime, and several ease of living criteria. Nationwide there are some 2,466 Towns in the 8,500-50,000 population category. Tolland is the highest ranking community in Connecticut with Somers next at 55th followed by Simsbury at 57th. In their write up on Tolland they state that “residents of Tolland live in a mix of modernity and historic charm”. This ranking is a great honor for the community and reflects the fact Tolland has the “mix of community spirit, can-do attitude and simple charm” that people look for when moving into a community.
