The Town of Tolland over the last two weeks has had financial reviews conducted by both Fitch and Standard and Poor’s in preparation for a bond sale. These two national rating institutions continue to be impressed by the Town’s financial position and opportunities for growth in the future. The attached rating letter from Standard and Poor’s points out the Town’s financial and management strengths from the view of an independent rating agency and demonstrates that the Town is on solid footing in terms of its debt strategy and overall borrowing philosophy. The Town is proud of the fact that it has been able to maintain its extremely strong financial rating of AA+ and has been told that with another year of solid financial management the rating may be increased in the next review process.  You may click here for a Summary from S&P.
