Government Structure
Tolland operates under a council/manager form of government. The Town Council consists of seven elected officials and serves as the legislative and policy making body for the town. The Town Manager, who is the chief operating officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operations for the town, is appointed by the Town Council. The Town Manager also supervises all town staff and departments. Tolland’s elected Town Council, the appointed Economic Development Commission, and the elected Planning and Zoning Commission are all parts of a team.Â
We understand that central to economic development is our partnership with the business and development community. Our continued success depends on this partnership. Our goal is to attract new businesses and to continue our support of existing businesses.
We are confident you will find success in our town. We are here to do everything we can to help you achieve success.
