Tolland Fire Department Announces Thermal Imager Camera Donations

The Tolland Fire Department is pleased to announce the addition of new Thermal Imaging Camera Units as the result of a sizable private donation.  This purchase replaces our older units which were originally purchased in 1998 through fundraising.

Thermal Imaging cameras are important tools used in firefighting.  By rendering infrared radiation as visible light, these specialized units allow firefighters to see areas of heat through smoke, darkness or heat-permeable barriers.

Along with the private donation the Tolland Fire Department Corporation contributed additional funds so that a total of 3 camera units could be purchased.  The Tolland Fire Department Corporation consistently applies your generous donations to supplement goods and equipment that would not otherwise be available due to budget constraints.

The Department would like to thank those associated with this specific donation as well as all who donate to the Department. Donations in any amount can be mailed to: Tolland Fire Department, Inc., P.O. Box 827, Tolland, Connecticut, 06084.
