Date of Annual Budget Referendum:

• Tuesday, May 5, 2009 - polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT NEWS - Tolland’s Polling Places Have Changed:

We now have polling places at the Hicks Memorial Municipal Center (Town Hall) Gymnasium and the Tolland Senior Center.

WHY? The former high school auditorium lobby was too small; we could not run a Presidential Election in that location. This means:

• If you used to vote at the former high school, you now vote at the Hicks Memorial Municipal Center (Town Hall) Gymnasium (Voting District #1)
  
• If you used to vote at the Town Hall Gymnasium, you now vote at the Tolland Senior center (Voting District #2)

Why did the Town move people from the Town Hall to the Senior Center?

To ease the flow of traffic through the center of town on Election day. People voting at the Senior Center live north of Interstate 84 and those voting at the Town Hall Gymnasium, for the most part, live south of Interstate 84.

THE NEW VOTING DISTRICTS:

A. Voting District #1:

• Votes at the Hicks Memorial Municipal Center at 21 Tolland Green, in the Gymnasium on the 1st level (located at the intersection of Route 195 and Old Post Road)

• Voting is held in the Gymnasium on the 1st level - enter through Town Office doors to the right of the Library

B. Voting District #2:

• Votes at the Tolland Senior Center at at 674 Tolland Stage Road (Route 74, near the Post Office)
