    PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
    The Conservation Commission was created on August 25, 1998 by resolution 03-40 with an advisory function on open space issues. Its current mission includes research, maintaining an inventory of open space areas, development of conservation education programs, evaluation and proposal for open space acquisition, and oversight of the Town’s Conservation areas.

    The Conservation Commission was formed pursuant to Section 131-a of the Connecticut General Statutes. The Commission consists of seven regular members and two alternate members who are appointed by the Town Manager to serve two year terms.

    The Conservation Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers on the sixth floor of the Hicks Memorial Municipal Center at 21 Tolland Green.
