The responsibility of the Finance Department is to ensure that public dollars are spent in accordance with the annual adopted budget and that services are provided in the most efficient way possible.

    What’s New:

Since the adoption of the 09/10 budget the work of the Finance Department shifts gears.  As well as looking forward to 09/10 to ensure that the various Town departments are able to function efficiently within their approved budgets, we must look back to 08/09.  Months of preparation for a professional independent audit of the year involves examination of each fund, each expenditure and an accountability for revenue received.  The direct result is an exemplary audit report as evident in the 16 years of awards.  Please direct inquiries to Noreen Botticello at nbotticello@tolland.org or (860) 871-3668.

    Finance Departments Awards:

Tolland has received the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” award for the past 16 years, from 1992 to 2008. The award is presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada to government units and public employee retirement systems whose comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFRs) achieve the highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting.
