The responsibility of the Finance Department is to ensure that public dollars are spent in accordance with the annual adopted budget and that services are provided in the most efficient way possible.
What’s New:
The Finance Director has been working in conjunction with all of the Town government department heads as well as the Town Manager for months on the FY 08/09 budget. Every expense request has been scrutinized and all revenue has been anticipated to accommodate the service needs of Tolland’s citizens. We are striving to communicate in every possible format using available medium to answer any and all questions pertaining to the budget and to make the referendum process run as efficiently as possible. Finance Departments Awards:
Tolland has received the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” award for the past 14 years, from 1992 to 2007. The award is presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada to government units and public employee retirement systems whose comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFRs) achieve the highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting.
