    - Cash Assistance (Old Age Assistance, Aid to the Disabled and Aid to the Blind) and food stamps are available to people meeting specific income and asset guidelines.
    - Medicaid (Title 19) pays medical costs for those with very low income/assets.
    - Personal Care Assistance pays for assistance with daily living tasks for people with disabilities.
    - QMB and ALMB Programs pays Medicare Part B premium and some coinsurance costs
    - Associates with Medicare. (ALMB subject to available funds).
    - Special Low Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB) program pays Medicare Part B premium, only for eligible persons.
    - State Administered General Assistance (SAGA) Provides cash assistance to individuals or households who cannot work, and cannot meet basic living expenses.
    - Temporary Family Assistance (TFA) provides financial assistance to eligible families. This program may provide other benefits to participants such as childcare expense, emergency housing. Eligibility requirements include single and/or two parent families in which one of the parents is disabled, unemployed or employed less than 100 hours per month. Pregnant women without minor children may be eligible.

    Provided by Hockanum Valley Community Council. Residents who are at least 60 years or Disabled adults under 60 are qualified for the dial- a-ride services. Transportation is provided between 8:30 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The Dial-A-Ride travels to all locations in Vernon, Ellington, and Tolland for medical appointments, shopping, social and recreational.
    To make a reservation please call between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM.
    Reservations for medical appointments may be made up to 28 days in advance, and other reservations up to 14 days in advance.
