Guess the Photo Contest
We want to test how well you know the Town you live in. We will be posting a series of photos of prominent places and people in Tolland for you to identify. We will be adding new ones every month through the end of August. Print out a scorecard and submit a completed card to the Recreation Office by September 1st to be eligible to win.

Your Favorite Image of Tolland
Now that you’ve seen historic pictures of Town in the Name the Photo Contest how about sharing your favorite photo image of Tolland with us. It can be of people, a place or something connected to Tolland that you feel makes Tolland special. We will make a collage of the photos we receive and post them in the Town Hall and the Library. All photos submitted must be suitable for public viewing, have a Tolland connection and be in jpeg format. Please be sure to include your contact information and a caption for the photo. All photos can be submitted to the Recreation Department at tainsworth@ tolland.org.
Photos must be submitted by Sept. 6th.
“Celebrate Tolland” Festival to be held Saturday, September 25th
10am till 4pm at Tolland High School. Join us as we celebrate the many
good things that make Tolland a special place to live. Area restaurants will be there with samples of their tasty delights. If you are artistic enter your work in the Art Show and maybe win a prize.

If you like to bake then enter the Kollas Orchard Apple Pie/Apple Dessert contest and try for the blue ribbon and compare recipes.

If you have someone you consider the “Apple of Your Eye”, then take a photo of them and share it with us. Make sure to include an apple theme to be eligible to win a prize. All photos will be included in a collage and displayed in the Town hall prior to the festival and at the festival.

Enjoy the multitude of residents, singing, dancing, playing and generally showing just how talented they are. In addition there will be plenty of games, contests and displays to keep everyone busy. Hope you can join us!
The Third Annual Summer Solstice Triathlon June 19th at Crandall Park was a big success
The third year was the charm with good weather and warmer water making for a fun event. Thanks to CNC Software, Conrad Bookkeeping, Tolland Subway and Tolland Bike Shop for sponsoring us. Thanks to all the volunteers that helped make the event run smoothly. A listing of the results for the 2010 race can be found by going on the plattsys.com website.
