Spring White Elephant Sale Set!
Due to the great success of the past events, the Tolland Recreation Department will be running another White Elephant Sale to benefit the Recreation Scholarship fund.
If you are cleaning out your basement or attic and have lots of good things you don’t want to throw out, then donate them to us and get a tax deduction and a warm feeling inside that you helped those in need.
The Sale will take place on
Saturday, April 14th from 8:00am – 12pm in the
New Tolland Recreation Center
(located in the old parker school, enter in the back wing in the side parking lot)
Everyone is welcome to come and buy a bargain!
All Donations should be useable items, not junk.
Donations are tax deductible and will be accepted at the Recreation Office during regular hours and on the weekends by appointment. Any question call the Recreation Department at 871-3610.
Things We Don’t Accept for the White Elephant Sale
Large Appliances – re: refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves or microwaves.
These Furniture Items – re: mattresses, box springs, metal bed frames or springs, futons, metal office furniture, file cabinets, carpeting, furniture that is broken, stained or needs upholstering or with missing parts. Couches and or Hide a beds.
Electronics – computer monitors, old computers, printers, am/fm radios, old tv’s
Books – we only accept children’ books,(the Library is collecting other books for their sale in June.)
Clothing – We do not accept any clothing
These Household Items – re: cups or mugs, valances, electric blankets, propane tanks, grills, toilets, paint, plumbing fixtures, bathtubs, glass windows or doors, automobile tires (except new in pairs), cleaning fluids, flammable liquids, or automobile batteries.
Sports/Exercise Stuff – firearms of any type, ammunition, heavy exercise equipment, nordic track, or stationary bikes.
Children’s Stuff – breast pumps, car seats, dirty strollers or high chairs, broken furniture, cribs with rungs spaced wide enough to get a tennis ball through.
Tolland Recreation Summer Solstice Sprint Triathlon
Saturday, June 16th
Starts and ends at Crandall Park in Tolland, Ct.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Recreation Scholarship fund.
Registration: For mail in registration participants must complete the entry form, sign the waiver and send it with the fee to the Recreation Department. Checks should be made payable to the Tolland Recreation Department

8am - Start –300 yd swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run.
(all distances are approximate) (t-shirts, swim caps and gift bags provided)
Cost: $70 per person by May 31st - $80 after May 31st Last day to register: June 12th. The event is open to the first 100 registrants. Limited to age 15 & up only.
Day of Registration/Packet Pickup – Crandall Park Pavilion – 6am till 7:30am
Divisions:Racers will be divided up into categories based on their age as of Dec. 31, 2012. Adult divisions will include: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,50-59, 60-69, 70 & up
Parking: is available at Crandall Park and at the Baptist Church across the road from the Park.
Awards: will be presented to the top males and females in each age category.
Volunteers: are needed to help with check in, on & off course direction, manning aid stations, and various other jobs. Call us if you can help. 860-871-3610.
