Civil Union Licenses
As of October 1, 2005, the State of Connecticut passed a law that allows same sex couples to obtain a Civil Union license. Licenses can only be issued in the town where the ceremony will be performed. Required for the application is proof of identity, i.e., a driver’s license. The cost of the license is $30.00. The ceremony must be performed within 65 days from the date of the application. Questions may be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office at (860) 871-3630.
The cost of a certified copy of a civil union license is $20.00.
