Now that the town parking lot is paved again,   it’s time to visit the Children’s Department of the Library for new books and programs!  And take a look at:

TPL Children’s Page, our website for kids:  Tolland parents and kids can now look online for library news and programs and what’s new and notable for kids at the library.

Young Adults Page:  older kids can check out their own page online.

Storytimes:  throughout the school year and summer,  the Children’s Department offers storytimes for the youngest babies through the primary grades.  Parents and caregivers may select from:

Preschool Storytimes for ages 2 to 5 with parent or caregiver.   The programs combine picture books, songs and rhymes, finger-plays, and crafts designed to enhance pre-literacy skills (the things a child needs to know before they can learn to read!).

Mother Goose Rhyme Time:  lapsit program for babies 6 months to 23 months old with parent or caregiver,  featuring rhymes, board books, and free play.   It’s a great way to introduce your baby to the library and meet some new friends!

Family Evening PJ Storytimes for ages 2 to 8.   Children are invited to come in PJs and to bring a favorite stuffed animal.   Offered on many Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM.

    Vacation Story/Crafts programs for grades K – 3.

    The library also offers families:

    • Infant Packets:  Available to parents with new babies.
    • An Awe Early Literacy Station,a computer designed for children and offering 50 educational programs promoting literacy skills.
For other program offerings,  Check the Online Events Calendar.
