    Tolland Sustainable Community Forum

    March 15, 2010, 7:30 PM, Crandall Lodge, Tolland

    For the past year and a half, the Town of Tolland has been working with the Capitol Region Council of Governments and the U.S. EPA to develop two publications relating to sustainable development: Together We Can Grow Better: Smart Growth for a Sustainable Connecticut Capitol Region and Smart Growth Guidelines for Sustainable Design and Development.

    On March 15, 2010 the Planning & Zoning Commission will sponsor a Tolland Sustainable Community Forum organized by the Capitol Region Council of Governments Sustainable Communities Initiative that will give town leaders, board members and commissioners as well as town residents the opportunity to learn about the strategies recommended through these documents and discuss Tolland’s role in creating a more sustainable community and region through future policy and development decisions.

    Plan of Conservation & Development

    The Tolland Planning & Zoning Commission at their meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 approved the update to the Plan of Conservation and Development. The effective date for the plan is – November 15, 2009. This important plan will pro-actively establish a common vision for the future of the community and determine policies that will help attain that vision.
