Current Procedures for Building Permits and Inspections
Updated July 15, 2020 and effective until futher notice
Effective July 16, 2020 until further notice, the Building Department is open to the public for essential business. For safety reasons, conducting business by phone, email and postal mail is still strongly enocouraged. A drop-box is located in Parking Lot A on Old Post Road for completed building permit applications and any documents you prefer to hand-deliver.
Every effort will be made to grant all requests, but please be patient as we find ways to accommodate you during this unprecedented situation.
Building Permits
Building permits applications are currently accepted:
- by email to mmassa@tolland.org
- by postal mail to: Town of Tolland Building Department, 21 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT 06084
- by drop box, located in Parking Lot A on Old Post Road
- in-person, under current COVID-19 safety guidelines
- some application types are available online.
Building permit forms may be downloaded here.
Payments can be arraigned by credit card over the phone (with a processing fee) and by checks via postal mail or drop-box. You may call the Building Department at 860-871-3601 with questions regarding application fees.
If your permit application requires Zoning, Wetlands or Health approval, please contact the Building Department for assistance.
Inspections:
The Building Official has resumed all in-person inspections. Please call 860-871-3601 to schedule inspections.
