Assistant Town Clerk Vacancy Notice

The Town of Tolland seeks applications for position of Assistant Town Clerk.  This is a 35 hour/week position with benefits working in the Town Clerk’s Office.  Starting salary $23.90 per hour.  Performs responsible and varied office-administrative and clerical work in recording vital statistics, land records, election information and other records.  Issues various licenses and permits.  Provides assistance to the Town Clerk and assumes responsibility for the office in the Town Clerk’s absence.  Minimum requirements:  the skills and knowledge would generally be acquired with a high school education and two years’ experience in governmental records management; or three years’ experience in office management or records management; or a combination of educational and office experience which provides a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position.  Ability to attain designation as Certified Municipal Clerk desirable.  Must be sworn to the duties of an Assistant Town Clerk and Assistant Registrar as required by State Statute.  Must become certified as a public notary.  Application and job description can be obtained at www.tolland.org under Help Center.  All applications are due by April 21, 2021 at 4:00 pm to 21 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT 06084, attention Mike Wilkinson.  AA/EOE
