3rd Annual Tolland “Back-to-School” Amnesty for Temporary Business Signs

TOLLAND – The Tolland Planning & Zoning Commission is holding its third annual amnesty program for temporary business signs during back-to-school time, starting August 24.

From August 24 to September 3, businesses can display a temporary sign without obtaining a permit. The sign must be located on the same property as the business being advertised and may not be located within the state-owned or town-owned road right-of-way.The sign can be no larger than 2.5 feet by 4 feet and must be removed by end of day on Monday, September 3.

After September 3, temporary sign regulations will be enforced again. For more information about what types of signs are allowed or to apply for a temporary sign permit at the end of the amnesty period, contact the Department of Planning and Development at 860-871-3601.
