• Technology Campus Zone discussion - the Planning and Zoning Commission focused on the Technology Campus Zone at its last meeting. Read the report prepared by the consultant, which was used to begin those discussions.  Based on the discussion at the July 27 meeting, the consultant will prepare scenarios for the zone.  A public meeting will be held in late summer or early fall.

Overview

The Tolland Planning and Zoning Commission is starting to implement zoning-related recommendations from the 2019 Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD).  Over the next few months, the Commission will continue work with same consultant used to update the POCD.  The consultant and staff will help the Commission with the following:

• Updating the approach for the Tolland Village Area (TVA) and Technology Campus Zone (TCZ). 
• Updating the regulations to better encourage those business uses the Town wishes to see in Tolland.
• Reducing unnecessary or unintentional permitting roadblocks for building updates and renovations and changes in use.
• Updating the home occupation regulations to better accommodate at-home work and small businesses.
