Tolland Emergency Management Presents "What Can I Do to Prepare?" an Emergency Preparedness Seminar

Event Date:
Friday, September 8, 2017 - 12:22pm to Saturday, September 9, 2017 - 1:21pm

Tolland Emergency Management sympathizes with our colleagues and their communities as they face the destruction from Hurricane Harvey and stand watch over the potential strike of Hurricane Irma.  With these communities in mind we will host a seminar entitled “What Can I Do to Prepare?” This seminar will demonstrate and encourage residents and businesses to start early and begin preparations before we are under the threat of severe weather.

You will learn information on preparing yourself, your home and your pets.  There will be a demonstration of ideas on how to, who to and what to prepare in advance. New household inventorying techniques will also be discussed. Many residents may have forgotten the impacts and long-term power outages in our area from past storms; please remember that even minor storms can result in long-term disruptions. Simply put, preparedness is the key to surviving all types of events which can interrupt everyday life.

Please join us on Saturday, September 9th at the Fire Department’s Training Center located at 191 Merrow Road, Tolland, Connecticut, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Please register by emailing volunteer@tolland.org or calling 860-871-3677 x 2144.  Please state your name, phone number and number of attendees. Seating is limited, reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. There is no charge to attend this seminar.
