Town of Tolland To Begin Using "Tolland Alert"

The Town of Tolland will begin using “Tolland Alert” by Everbridge Aware™, an emergency notification system provided by Everbridge, the leading emergency notification system provider, to communicate with residents and businesses within minutes during an emergency.

The Town of Tolland will be able to alert residents and businesses about severe weather watches, major fire or police events, major road closures, public health advisories, vital town news or events, winter parking ban notices, town service updates, Water Commission advisories, and WPCA advisories using the “Tolland Alert” system by Everbridge Aware. Residents and businesses that register may elect to subscribe to all or any one of the notification categories. Messages can be sent on any communication path desired; cell phone, home phone, email, text messaging, fax, pager, PDA and more – ensuring that residents and businesses receive time sensitive information and important public service announcements in minutes. Residents and businesses currently listed in white pages database will be automatically subscribed to emergency alerts by phone, though any citizen may self-register, provide additional contact information or opt out.

“We have a commitment to our citizens to protect them from any danger that threatens our community. The ability to reach all residents quickly during an emergency to warn them and provide guidance is critical to upholding that commitment, which is why we are rolling out “Tolland Alert” by Everbridge Aware,” said Steven Werbner, Town of Tolland Town Manager. “The Everbridge emergency notification system ensures the Town of Tolland will be able to react efficiently and provide accurate information during a natural disaster or other crisis.”
