Unacceptable Trash and Recycling Items

Just a friendly reminder that the following items are not allowed in either the Green Solid Waste Tote or the Blue Recycling Tote:

Pillows, clothing items, furniture, sheet rock, wood, yard waste, appliances, insulation, tires, pool covers/liners and shingles.  Please note this not a complete list.  If you have a questionable item, call Casella Waste Systems at 860-423-4527.

Regular Solid Waste consists of normal household trash, garbage or rubbish created by residents.

Recyclables consists of cardboard and brown paper bags, mixed paper, newspaper, magazines, phone books, books, glass and metal food containers, plastic containers #1 through #7, milk and juice cartons, aluminum cans and other items as may be identified by ordinance or statute to be recycled.
