Tolland Fire Department Cancels Chimney Check Program

It is with regret that I inform residents that the Tolland Fire Department will no longer be conducting chimney checks.  Due to rising call volumes and increasing demands placed on the Department we find ourselves with limited time and resources needed to continue offering this program. We still encourage residents to get their chimneys and fireplaces checked by contacting a reputable chimney company.

We thank all those who called us in the past as we used these opportunities to interact with our residents and become more familiar with different houses around the community. I can assure you that this decision was not made lightly. It was an unfortunate result of our current budget crisis combined with the increasing emergency call volume placed on Fire Department staff. I apologize for any inconvenience,
